“This beach was my mom’s favorite beach. We would drive 3 hours to visit it every year, sometimes many times. She’d walk the beach and collect rocks for hours. I painted this piece the year after she died from cancer at 61. She was so supportive of me as a person and an artist and it was very important to me to paint expressions of my grief at losing her.” -Sarah
