“This painting was made near my home in Phoenix, OR. Railroad tracks and an old building that was used for pears when the Rogue Valley had a thriving pear industry. Currently the building is used by a beer distributor. The valley’s agricultural history has shifted from pears to wine and now cannabis. I love the way you can clearly see the shift in the color of the sky when it’s full of cumulus clouds. Without the clouds the color change is so subtle that it’s hard to notice. The clouds create visual breaks and reveal the deep ultramarine up high, the cobalt in the lower to middle sky and the light cerulean at the horizon. I never get tired of seeing or painting this shift.” - Sarah
