Original Oil Painting, Plein Air Landscape of Whaleshead Beach, Brookings, OR. When you look very closely, you will see this painting has tiny bits of sand that were blown in while painting, which I really love.
Painting measures 16" H x 20" W. Framed size is 17”x21”x1.5in.
Painted with excellent oil paints on a birch panel with traditional gesso and protected with a matte varnish, this piece will outlive us all. Framed in a modern natural maple floater frame, it will fit right in to any decor. Simple frame by fine craftsman Jens Sehm. Painting is being stored in my studio and can be shipped immediately.
Plein Air Painting means painting out of doors, on location. It is a challenging way to paint, you battle the weather and well meaning visitors, but the reward is you have a direct, intense experience than is not possible when using a photo reference. I consider myself a documentary painter, I like to make records of who we are and what we see everyday.
